WHAT WOULD I DO TO CLEAN MY NAME?
First, the answer would depend on the circumstance.
If my reputation, my honor or my image were affected in the wake of a misunderstanding and if it were within my means, I would try to convince people that what they have heard is a misunderstanding.
In another case, if any gossip reaches the ears of the people, I wouldn't do anaything to change the way those gossip has affected the concept in which people or my loved ones had me because it is something irrelevant.
I would leave things as they are because it would not affect me at all. I wouldn't mind if people formed a prejudice about me (based on gossip) because I know very well who I am and what is said behind my back has me without care.

Interesting answer. However, as an exercise, would you also say that you would've done exactly what the writer did? I mean, she did not cancel her talk, but rather the opposite: she did what was within her means to clear her name.
ResponderEliminarNow, gossip is one thing. But being declared trash on the media is another story. Would you have done as she did (address the problem), or would you have dismissed it as an immature attack and waited until the waters were calm?
